The Economist
Motion graphics for The Economist | 2022-24 | After Effects, Cinema 4D, Illustrator, QGIS mapping
Here’s a selection of motion graphics I’ve contributed to the documentaries published on their YouTube channel.
Initially joining as an intern, I was animating maps, charts, data, infographics, illustrations, drawing up storyboards, helping on film shoots and interviews. I also had the chance to shadow other departments: Podcasts, Social, Graphics, Data and 1843 Magazine. It was game-changing for me to discover the intersection of documentary journalism and creative design that allows me to be both interested in making things and in global issues.

Tearfund
Graphic designer | 2021-22 | Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
A example of work produced during my time with the global poverty-fighting charity Tearfund.
One of the bigger projects I worked on included illustrating a selection of flowers to be used in the Memory Garden. The Memory Garden is a digital memorial page on which people can donate funds to the charity in memory of a loved one—marking the donation with a message and a flower. The garden currently has over 1,400 flowers marking donations made. On a personal level, I still feel privileged and humbled to overlap in a small way with many peoples’ journey of grief.
My time with the charity also included working on layouts for print, social media imagery, larger promotional campaigns and exhibition graphics.

United Bible Societies
Infographics for United Bible Societies | 2019-20 | Adobe Illustrator
I worked with the United Bible Societies to produce over fifty square, sharable infographics displaying global trends. The graphics pair UBS’s brand style with my conceptual illustrations to communicate statistics. They were shared on social media platforms. Some were then printed on physical coasters with space on the reverse for written comments. They were used as interactive conversation starters at a global summit. They were also printed to be used like a memory game and with two squares to a card to be matched like dominoes. Here’s a sample of the graphics created.
This work combined two of my greatest interests— creative thinking challenges and communicating global trends/events.

Biographies
Motion graphics for biographies | 2022-23 | After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator
Various personal projects have involved animating family trees, photo collages, house portraits and maps to tell life stories. Designing these in a way that reflects and honours the individual’s life is rewarding.
