I’m a motion designer, graphic designer, illustrator and all-round creative.
Currently, I work in The Economist’s video team animating maps, charts and illustrative infographics for their social channels.
Brought up in south west London, our home was full of craft supplies and fancy dress items and the kitchen table was mainly used for making things. Studies took me to Bristol and in 2017 I graduated from UWE with a degree in Graphic Design. I then interned at a church, working with vulnerable adults and with the church’s communications (while living in a commune with twenty-one others of all ages). It was during this time that I began to do freelance design work; initially working on conceptual illustrations, exhibition graphics and branding. After a few years of freelancing, I spent a year designing with the poverty-fighting charity, Tearfund. I joined The Economist initially as an intern, then as a freelancer and am now full time.
My clients have varied but I like to work on things where creativity and humanity overlap, which often looks like the areas of journalism, documentary, charity, church and NGO’s.
In the outside world I like to travel, watch documentaries, eat food and meet new people. I’ve always enjoyed getting involved in communities and have an interest in the third sector and humanitarian causes.
